Community Guidelines
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Blab is for real conversations with the people you know. These guidelines apply to everything you share on Blab: voice notes, messages, photos, videos, stories, profiles, usernames and group names. They are part of our Terms of Service.
Not allowed on Blab
Child sexual exploitation and abuse. We have zero tolerance. This means any content that sexualises a minor, grooming, or asking a minor for sexual content. We remove it, close the account and report it to the authorities.
Sexual content and nudity. Blab is used by people as young as 13, so sexual content and nudity are not allowed. Sharing or threatening to share intimate images of someone without their consent is never allowed.
Harassment and bullying. This includes:
- insulting, humiliating or intimidating people
- sending unwanted repeated messages
- pushing people to harm themselves
- ganging up on someone in a group
Hate. This includes attacking or dehumanising people because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or serious illness.
Violence and threats. This includes threatening to harm someone, praising or encouraging violence, sharing graphic violence, and supporting terrorist or violent extremist groups.
Self-harm and suicide. Don’t encourage or give instructions for self-harm, suicide or eating disorders. If you’re struggling, please reach out (see Support).
Illegal activity. This includes selling or promoting drugs, weapons or other illegal goods or services, and using Blab to commit or plan any crime.
Scams, spam and fake accounts. This includes:
- fraud, phishing and fake giveaways
- bulk or automated messaging
- impersonating a person, brand or organisation
- creating accounts to deceive people or to get around a ban or block
Other people’s privacy. Don’t share someone’s private information (for example their address, phone number or ID documents) without their permission. Don’t secretly record people and share it.
Abusing Blab. This includes trying to access other people’s accounts or data, interfering with Blab’s systems, scraping, and misusing the reporting tools.
Look after each other
- Block anyone you don’t want to hear from. They won’t be told.
- Mute a conversation or someone’s stories if you need a break.
- Report a profile, message or story from its menu in the app.
- Think before you share: the people you message can screenshot or record what you send, even though messages expire.
What happens when someone breaks the rules
Our team reviews reports and may look at the reported content while it still exists. Depending on how serious the problem is, we may:
- remove the content
- warn the person
- limit what the account can do
- suspend or permanently close the account
We may also report content to the police or other authorities, and we always do so for child sexual exploitation and abuse.
If you think we made a mistake about your content or account, you can appeal by emailing support@blabtalk.com with “Appeal” in the subject.
In an emergency
If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services (999 in the UK, 112 in the EU, 911 in the US) before reporting it to us.
