A Christmas Carol was very entertaining and the animation was superb. You must see it in 3D! However, kids who go and see this movie probably won't understand the majority of the dialogue and will probably get lost. It's actually quite mature and in my opinion it's more suited for adults than kids as far as the dialogue and story goes. I think both kids and adults will love the animation and have a lot of fun - especially in 3D! Unfortunately, that might be the only thing the kids will like. It's a great film and it's definitely Oscar worthy for the animation.

So....I got an email the other day from Matt, saying that my omnipotent presence was missed...and thusly, I am here. And I am here with some amazing news.

Your friendly Fish has returned from the depths of hell itself, ladies and gentlemen! To give you backstory....

Early September my wife, who was well in the midst of her pregnancy, had started complaining about cramping. Of course, she told the doctor, who said "don't worry, cramping occurs. It's really nothing to worry about". Well, we didn't worry....until Mid-September. Six am, after having JUST gotten home two hours earlier, I'm awoken to my wifes cries of agony. Barely awake, and a tad worried, we rush to the emergency room. FOUR hours later, it's determined that my wife must be admitted, and is put on immediate hospital bedrest....her cervix had started to funnel open, indicating that childbirth was on the horizon.

For two days she lay in bed, with me at her side whenever I wasn't working. On the second day, after an ultrasound, the doctor made the determination that she had to be transferred to a different hospital, because her cervix had completely opened. She was rushed there that day, and was maintained on bedrest, getting a couple of shots to boost the baby's growth...just in case.

For three weeks my wife lay in bed, doing battle with her inner demons, and the child that grew within her. And on October 4th, at only 26 weeks gestation, my wife's water broke.

She lay in bed for another two days after that, dealing with contractions that were slowly becoming more frequent. On October 6th, I spent the night with her, because the contractions were becoming more frequent. The hospitals monitor was not picking up the contractions, so I started writing them down, as well as how long they lasted. And then, in the wee early morning of October 7th, at 9:35 am, my daughter, Madelynn Tessa Mae Fishler, was born, a whole three months ahead of schedule.

My wife and I spent every waking moment we could at her isolette. Touching her hand, reading books, singing songs, and crying to each other. There is nothing...I assure you...nothing that is more heart-wrenching than seeing a human the size of your forearm struggle to live. But live she did. She was born only 2 pounds, 2 ounces. And now, she is cusping on 6 full pounds...two whole months later.

I hope this gives you all a little hint as to what I've been going through. I'll try to be back on more often...but...no promises. Enjoy the pictures below

Okay, I know we have at least one doctor that reads the stuff in this forum. So I'm going to post a question here because I'm too cheap to pay a professional for an answer.

I'm not likely to get a Swine Flu shot as they are in short supply. By the time they have enough the flu season will be past. And I work in a large building with a billion other lost souls in cubicles that are closely stacked. It's a hot house for growing pathogens as well as African Violets and other flora. I've already caught the regular flu there. Now my question is whether or not I've developed any 'natural' immunity to the swine flu from having the regular flu? Or are they so completely different?

I guess I should at least send some flowers, since I'll be unable to attend any funeral services. I knew the deceased well. We laughed and played together and had many of the same friends. In fact, it was through the deceased that I met a few of my friends. And now, with this death, my other friends and I have seemed to have lost contact. Sigh... tis the way of things I guess.

The deceased isn't really a person, it's a forum. Its name is BlabTalk. And I'm pretty sure it passed away because no one seems to post on it any more. I just want you to know that I check in occasionally to see if any of my friends return. I miss you all and hope you are all doing well.

I found this site over at Craigslist, thought I would check it out. I just heard today that last night the President has past the "hate crimes" bill. My question is, why should there be a distinction in a human life just because of their sexual orientation, gender or religious belief? It's making one human life more precious then another. A crime against any person is a crime, period! It's already against the law to hurt or kill lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, or people with disabilities. Why do we need to call it a hate crime?

Let me first say this is an interesting forum, I saw your advertisement at our book club website. It's also a privilege to be the first to post here in the book section of this forum. I recently finished reading Dan Brown's latest novel, "The Lost Symbol", which centers around the Freemasons. In the book it tells about some of the initiation rites that one must do in order to become a Freemason (I believe they have 33 levels) and even though these rituals were a little disturbing and weird they didn't involved hurting anyone. Just the other day I overheard a very disturbing conversation about a particular initiation involving raping their daughters in order to get into the Freemasons. Has anyone else heard this rumor or is it a rumor? I haven't been able to find anything on Google but maybe I'm not asking the right questions. Can anyone give me a link if this initiation does exist? Or does anyone have any personal experiences to relate? I would be very interested in knowing more. I also heard that there are a couple of women who are coming out and telling the newspapers that they Masonic fathers raped them as initiation. I hope I am posting this in the right category, I did see the "something we should know" category of the forum that this would have fit too I think.
